About Skills for England

IAMI are invited to provide maritime knowledge and experience to the creation and operation of Apprenticeship standards, which operate in England. These standards include the EPA plan which IAMI use to provide assessment services to its members.

 Skills for England work with employers to shape skills training in England, for the future of the workforce. Skills for England are replacing IfATE which was created in 2017 as an arm’s length body of the Department for Education (DfE).

Thousands of employers help Skills for England to create and maintain over 600 occupational standards. These sit at the heart of the English skills system.
