The International Association of Maritime Institutions (IAMI) has been awarded a contract by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency to develop and implement a new digital assessment platform for trainee seafarers in the UK. This web-based system is intended to modernise the assessment process for maritime qualifications.

Formed in the late 1990s, the panel was initially established as a consultative group tasked with developing the Large Yacht qualification pathways, which were officially introduced in 2002.
